The world-famous singer leapt in front of Susanna and Ben Shephard in the final moments of the special programme.

The pair have been broadcasting live from Westminster Abbey ahead of King Charles III’s Coronation.

Mel B, had earlier been a guest alongside former Three Degrees star Sheila Ferguson.

Susanna, 52, was concluding Good Morning Britain today with a moving scripted sign-off set to music.

She said: “It will an historic moment in what promises to be a momentous day here in Westminster.”

Mel B, 47, then jumped into the shot, leaving Susanna and co-host Ben laughing.

She managed to continue, adding: “ITV1’s coverage of the Coronation continues in a few minutes with Julie Etchingham and Tom Bradby.

“Thank you for sharing it with us so far. Have a good day, enjoy the Coronation.”

Mel, who famously kissed Charles in her Spice Girls days, earlier explained that she was at the Coronation after staying in a central London hotel – but couldn’t stick around.

But Susanna urged her: “As you’re talking, are you getting more of a sense of ‘I can’t leave, I must go in, I must play my part’?”

Mel, who was on playful form, grabbed the host, saying: “You’re pushing me.”

She added: “It is incredible and you can just feel the buzz from our hotel. You can see everybody’s just buzzing with excitement, they really are.”

Susanna told GMB viewers: “Hundreds of guests have already assembled in the Abbey, thousands of onlookers are waiting expectently on the mile-long route from the Palace and millions are glued to their television sets at home.

“The country is poised, the prince who is now our king and has waited 74 years for this moment, is poised.”

The star revealed new ‘Coronation hair’ for the special broadcast – which won the approval of many fans.

One wrote, of the new look with highlights: “Susanna looks lovely this morning love her hair” with a thumbs-up emoji.
