‘Competitive’ Kate Middleton has relentless drive to succeed and ‘be good at things’, Mike Tindall reveals

THEY may be part of the world’s most famous families – but that doesn’t stop the Royals from poking fun at each other on WhatsApp just like the rest of us do with our loved ones.

So when Kate Middleton was put through her paces by England rugby players last week to mark her new role as patron, Mike Tindall was prepped and ready to cheekily criticise her technique.

Mike Tindall wanted to tease Kate over her rugby skills

However, other plays reported back to Mike that she was a ‘really good at kicking’

But annoyingly for the professional player – who is married to The Queen‘s granddaughter Zara – the Duchess of Cambridge was really rather good.

In the latest episode of his podcast The Good, the Bad, and the Rugby, the dad-of-three said Kate’s performance seemed “effortless”.

During the session, the Duchess – who was a keen rower and hockey player at university – was hoisted into the air by the team at Twickenham and completed drills.

After the practice had finished, Mike messaged his mate Ellis Genge – another professional England player – to ask how it had gone.

He explained: “I text Ellis and said, ‘Mate, please tell me anything she messed up on’ so I could [message the] family WhatsApp group and get to her.’

Unfortunately for Mike, his mate had nothing but good things to say about Kate’s performance.

He continued: “And [Ellis] said, ‘No she was actually pretty good, and she was really good at kicking.’

Opening up about Kate is like behind closed doors, Mike added: “She has this competitive nature where she has to be good at things.”

As Mike’s co-hosts praised Kate’s rugby skills, the dad agreed: “Getting thrown up in the line-out if you’ve never done it before is not easy because normally, you’ll kick the prop in either the nuts or the face as he’s lifting you and she just looked effortless.”

Kate has taken over Prince Harry former roles as patron of both the RFU and the Rugby Football League (RFL) after being given them by the Queen.

She is the first member of the Royal Family to officially receive one of the Sussexes’ past royal patronages after Megxit.

In more Royal Family news, Meghan Markle’s job title on Archie’s birth certificate left royal fans totally baffled & it wasn’t used on Lilibet’s.

And Kate Middleton had to make major change to her appearance before Prince William engagement was announced, expert claims.

Plus Prince William is ‘supportive’ of Camilla becoming Queen when Charles takes the throne despite ‘family rows’ in the past.
