EastEnders star unrecognisable dressed as David Bowie – can you guess who it is?

AN EASTENDERS star has been spotted looking completely unrecognisable after dressing up as David Bowie for a hilarious snap.

The cast of the popular BBC One soap dressed up as music icons from throughout the decades as they celebrated a Royal visit ahead of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

Jamie Borthwick could be seen dressed as Bowie in the snap

Jamie has played Jay on EastEnders since 2006

Jamie Borthwick – who has played Jay Brown in the show since he joined in 2006 – donned an orange wig as he pretended to be Bowie.

He posed against a wall in multi-coloured striped trousers, a red blouse and red leather shoes – completed with a gold waistband.

Alongside him – his co-stars were dressed as Gerri Halliwell, Britney Spears, Shirley Bassey and Cher as they posed on set.

Actor Jamie, 27, posted the snap to his Instagram on Thursday afternoon – joking it was the musical “mix” of all time.

“Bowie, ginger spice, Shirley Bassey, Cher & Britney mix! …. The way Cher looks at Bowie though,” he wrote in the caption.

Gurlaine Kaur Garcha, who plays Ash in EastEnders and was dressed as Cher, teased back: “Couldn’t resist, could I?”

Friends and fans headed to the comments to gush over the hilarious snaps, including fellow EastEnders’ actress Clair Norris.

“You guys! I love these pics,” she wrote, as a pal jokingly chimed in: “Nice to see your natural hair do its thing, mate.”

The snap was taken as the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall took to the BBC set and met the EastEnders’ cast earlier this month.

Charles visited the soap’s new set with wife Camilla — who revealed she was a fan of the Dirty Den and Angie years — as the cast filmed a special Platinum Jubilee episode.

Jamie was last spotted away from screens in February, when he headed out to dinner with late co-star Barbara Windsor’s husband.

The soap star — who plays Jay Brown  — upset bosses by picking up a six-month driving ban, seeing have to be driven to and from set.

A source close to Jamie, who joined the soap in 2006 aged 12, said: “EastEnders bosses are furious. It’s not a good look. If soap bosses lay on a driver for him, then other stars will want the same.”
