ECO-warriors Meghan Markle and Prince Harry flew back to California on a private jet after their New York tour.
The couple were seen hugging staff members who had worked with them on the tour before they boarded their flight.
Harry and Meghan have now been reunited with their children Archie and Lilibet, after a wire was spotted poking out of Harry’s pocket during the tour.
This has sparked rumours that the Sussexe’s trip was part of their multi-million dollar Netflix deal.
Travelling by commercial airline is a more eco-friendly option than flying by private jet.
The reason for this is despite the amount of fuel burnt and therefore CO2 emitted is a lot lower than a commercial jet, generally speaking there will be far fewer people on board.
This isn’t the first time the pair have been heavily scrutinised for flying privately, they took a private jet to the South of France two days after flying to Ibiza a few years ago.
They had hired a 12-seater Cessna aircraft that would have cost more than £20,000 to hire.
At the time of flying, there were more than 20 scheduled departures from London airports to Nice.
Social media users mocked Meghan for dressing in block colour, claiming she was “power dressing” and a “Michelle Obama wannabe”.
But when spotted on the runway, she opted for a loose camel sweater and black trousers with flat shoes.
Meghan threw her arms around her head of PR, Christine Schirmer, as she said her farewells before boarding the flight.
Harry was also casually dressed in jeans, a jumper and some suede boots as he loaded bags onto their jeep after they touched down last night.
The couple had paid a visit to the World Trade Center memorial and Freedom Tower with the New York Mayor Bill de Blasio and the state’s new governor Kathy Hochul.
As part of their trip, Megan read her book The Bench to kids from a Harlem school – with Harry sat in the front row.
The prince sat cross-legged as his wife read to the group of seven-year-olds.
The mum-of-two told the crowd that it had been the first time she has read the book to a group of kids other than her own.
Meghan, 39, claims it was inspired by a poem she wrote for Harry on his first Father’s Day and a “love story” of him and Archie.
‘ROYAL STYLE’ TOUR
Earlier Meghan was spotted embracing some of the pupils as they showed the royal couple a brightly coloured mural they had created.
Prince Harry joined the Duchess at P.S. 123 Mahalia Jackson school on day two of their three-day tour of New York City.
The New York tour is the first time Meghan has appeared at a public event since giving birth to Lilibet in June.
They headlined a star-studded Covid vaccine gala in Central Park and were joined by Coldplay and Jennifer Lopez to name a few.
The Global Citizen gig tickets sold up to £850 each.
She gushed: “it’s wonderful to be back” during their trip and it’s believed the pair plan to take on more “royal-style” tours.
It hopes to promote vaccine-sharing with developing countries. It is understood the couple want more tours promoting their Archewell Foundation and charity causes.
