Inside Meghan Markle’s relationship with King Charles & ‘why he prefers Kate’ as Royals brace for Sussex Netflix doc

MEGHAN Markle’s relationship with King Charles has been revealed as the Royal Family brace for more Sussex truthbombs in their upcoming Netflix docuseries.

Royal author Angela Levin claimed that while Meghan and Charles had a strong bond at the start, this soon spiralled when she wanted her and Harry to be “number one”.

Charles’ relationship with Kate completely differs

Charles, 74, has done “his very best” to include the Duchess of Sussex in the family, Angela said – including walking her down the aisle in absence of her own father Thomas Markle in 2018.

However, his efforts since have been met “with no enthusiasm” from the former actress, the expert claimed.

Angela told The Celeb Report: “Prince Charles, as he was then, when he was first introduced to Meghan thought she was terrific.

“He did think she was a breath of fresh air and he was very happy that Prince Harry had found someone to get married to.

Meghan Markle reveals close pal's words of warning before wedding to Harry

“It didn’t work and however kind he’s been – offers of coming up to Balmoral and coming to lunch in the country – it’s been taken with no enthusiasm or not taken at all.

“He’s done his very best but Meghan wanted her and Harry to be number one and it annoyed her.”

Meghan later slammed the Royal family in an interview, during which she and Harry claimed they were “trapped”.

The couple have since announced an £88m Netflix docuseries which is set to tell tell their “love story”.

Experts claim the family are bracing for discussions about the King and Queen Consort and Prince William.

After concerns they might be stepping out of line since the Queen’s death, the pair tried to delay the series – putting them at loggerheads with Netflix chiefs.

However plans to release it at the end of this year are still going ahead.

Angela explained the relationships Charles has with his daughters-in-law differ massively – and it all comes down to family attitudes and respect.

“Catherine comes from a stable family where if there are any arguments or disputes they work very hard, very quickly to sort it out,” she added.

“Meghan of course comes from a broken family and there is a lot to show that she tends to just cut people out of her life if they say anything that might not be praise.

“[Catherine is] a family person she doesn’t cause trouble even if she’s not 100 per cent pleased with something, she just gets it done and carries on, whereas Meghan takes a stand.

“The way that [Catherine] and the now King look at each other when they go to an event or go to an engagement, they’re very relaxed with each other, they smile, they laugh they’re at ease.”

MEGHAN’S WAY OR NO WAY

Angela said the constant “attacking” of the Royal family is “very insulting” and will not have gone down well.

Revealing it’s Meghan’s way or no way, the relationship between the two has become strained.

“I don’t think it’s at all about favourites. I think it’s about having a family and responding to that,” she added.

“He [Charles] has done everything he can to keep the family going.

“He loves Harry very much and did like Meghan very much but it’s just her behaviour that you just have to accept.

“She’s as hard as nails and it’s not easy to get through that unless you absolutely do it her own way.

“They don’t have any time to get on.”

Prince Harry announced last month his £35million memoir will be released on January 10 next year.

The book, which is titled Spare, tells the tale of his life and is said to examine the “highs and lows”.

Sources told The Celeb Report Harry and Meghan saw the book and docuseries as a way of attacking the royals one final time before trying to build bridges again.

A source said: “Next year 2023 was to be their reconciliation year.”
