BOTH Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle are more than used to having their name in print but the Duchesses are set for a publishing first.
Next month will see the Duchess of Sussex release her very first children’s book The Bench, just a month after The Duchess of Cambridge releases her own tome.
And it seems that Kate’s book Hold Still, capturing photographs of life during the pandemic, is soaring ahead in the popularity stakes.
The hardcover book is currently number one on the bestseller list for Amazon’s Portraits in Art, Architecture and Photography section.
And Hold Still: A Portrait of Our Nation in 2020 is currently number five on the overall bestseller list while Meg’s is hovering down at number 24.
In fact the book, which follows the bond between father and son inspired by Prince Harry and Archie has already had its prices slashed on Amazon in a bid to flog more copies.
It is only due for publication on June 8 – although stores across the UK have already listed it for pre-order online.
The children’s read, published by Penguin Random House, comes with a recommended retail price of £12.99.
But Amazon, Waterstones and Foyles have already slashed the price down to £9.99 – each boasting a 23 per cent saving of £3.
Meanwhile, Hold Still, which is released tomorrow is being sold at full price at Waterstones but has also been reduced on Amazon to just £17.55.
The Duchess of Cambridge spearheaded the project, called Hold Still, in partnership with the National Portrait Gallery, where she’s a patron.
Meanwhile, The Bench is a children’s book about the bond between a father and son inspired by Prince Harry and son Archie.
An audiobook, narrated by Meghan herself, will follow – although there is no preview of this yet.
A picture of the hardback was released yesterday, featuring a watercolour cover by award-winning artist Christian Robinson of a bench under a tree and surrounded by birds.
Her book is the latest project in a long list of work for the couple since they moved to the US.
They signed a £75million Netflix deal and a megabucks deal with Spotify with a docuseries now planned about the Invictus Games.
And Harry recently got a standing ovation as he appeared solo at a Covid concert – with US fans saying “he belongs to us now”.
