Kristen Stewart bags first Oscar nomination for Princess Diana role in controversial film Spencer

KRISTEN Stewart bagged her first ever Oscar nomination for her role as Princess Diana in controversial film Spencer.

The American actress won huge praise for her portrayal of Diana who died in 1997 aged 36.

Kristen’s nomination is the only nod for Spencer in a major film category

Kristen, 31, plays Diana during a three-day Royal Christmas at Sandringham where she struggles with her marriage to Prince Charles.

Speaking about Diana, Kristen said: “There are some people that are just born with this sparkly, protruding, beautiful, just like incredibly infectious energy — and she was one of those people.”

Kristen’s nomination is the only nod for Spencer in a major film category.
