Nadia Sawalha slams controversial Prince George cartoon as she admits she’d be ‘so angry’ if it were about her child

NADIA Sawalha has slammed the controversial new Prince George TV show – admitting that she’d be fuming if it had been made about her child.

The 56-year-old star discussed the HBO Max eight-part series with her Loose Women co-stars today, and couldn’t hide her fury.

Nadia was visibly unimpressed by the cartoon

The US parody portrays George as a spoilt brat, with unflattering depictions of the rest of the royal family also shown in the series.

Loose Women aired a clip of the cartoon at the start of today’s show, with host Kaye Adams commenting afterwards: “Nadia, you look very unimpressed.”

Nadia seethed: “It just wasn’t very funny.

“If it was my child I’d be so angry, I’d hate that – he’s eight years old and you’re taking the mickey out of him, it’s not fair.”

All of the ladies then agreed that the snippet they saw wasn’t very funny, but Nadia insisted that the show shouldn’t be banned.

Despite her anger, she explained: “I would just choose not to watch it.

“To censor comedy, I think it’s always wrong, and if you’re offended then just don’t watch it.”

Earlier today, the cartoon was slammed on Good Morning Britain, with guest Dr Shola Mos-Shogbamimu calling the portrayal “bullying”.

Expected to air in the UK next year, the animated series was created by Gary Janetti – who first began mocking the prince on his Instagram account, which has almost one million followers.

The 54-year-old will be voicing Prince George, while Orlando Bloom plays Prince Harry, and Game of Thrones’ Sophie Turner voices Princess Charlotte.

In one scene, cartoon Prince George shakes his teacher’s hand on the first day of school and says: “You curtsy lower tomorrow if you want to keep your f***ing job.”

Critics also condemned Janetti for joking about the young Prince’s sexuality, after implying a relationship with another pageboy at Prince Harry’s wedding.
