New photo of Lilibet celebrating her first birthday released by Harry and Meghan

PRINCE Harry and Meghan Markle have released a sweet photo of daughter Lilibet to mark the tot’s first birthday.

In the adorable candid shot, snapped by close family friend Misan Harriman during her birthday party last weekend, the little one beams in a pale blue frock.

Little Lili one has bright red hair, just like her famous dad. The Sussexes held a low-key garden picnic to celebrate during the weekend

A matching blue ribbon headband adorns her fiery red hair – which has clearly been inherited from her royal dad.

A second black and white shot shows Meghan holding her daughter in her arms and beaming for the camera.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, as well as their three-year-old son Archie, celebrated Lili’s first birthday this past weekend while they were in the UK for the Queen’s Jubilee.

Close friends and family were invited to a low-key garden picnic at Frogmore Cottage.

Zara and Mike Tindall’s children Mia, eight, Lena, three, and Lucas, one, are all believed to have attended, along with Peter Phillips’ and Autumn Kelly’s daughters Savannah, 11, and Isla, ten.

Other guests expected at the birthday celebration included Archie’s godfather Charlie Van Straubenzee, and his brother Tom, Princess Charlotte’s godfather.

Sources said: “It was a lovely do and had everything you’d expect from a child’s birthday party.

“But there was no formal entertainment.

“The idea was for it to be very relaxed and casual, with people free to pop in and out as they wished.

“It was a nice opportunity for the other royal children to meet Lilibet for the first time.”

One of Lili’s favourite presents was a £75 pink Volkswagen Beetle ride-on toy, which had been spotted in Selfridges, it’s believed.

Violet Bakery’s Claire Ptak, who produced Harry and Meghan’s 2018 wedding cake, created a custom cake for the special day, Harper’s Bazaar reports.

A spokesperson for the Sussexes also revealed tonight that more than $100,000 was donated to the World Central Kitchen in honour of Lilibet’s birthday.

SWEET SNAP

The charity provides meals to those in need, and has most recently opened a kitchen in Uvalde, Texas after the school shooting.

Over the weekend, members of the royal family shared sweet birthday tributes to little Lilibet.

Lili’s namesake Queen Elizabeth, Prince William and Duchess Kate, and Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla were among those to send their love.

The Queen also met Lilibet face-to-face for the first time in a private meeting over the long weekend.

The Celeb Report exclusively revealed that Her Majesty banned photographs from being taken as she held the tot.

BIRTHDAY SURPRISE

It’s understood she first sat down with the family on Thursday.

However, it’s not known if she was in attendance at the birthday party, which happened after she backed out of two key events after suffering “discomfort”.

Meghan and Harry wanted to bring a private snapper in to capture their daughter’s first face-to-face meeting with Her Majesty.

However, they were told “no” as it was feared they’d share the pic with US TV networks, it’s claimed.

The Sussexes returned to California on Sunday before the end of the Jubilee festivities.

They publicly attended just one event – the service of thanksgiving at St Paul’s.

They did not acknowledge or exchange eye contact with the Cambridges during the event, and were sat in the second row at the cathedral.
