Prince Harry's fallout with Dominic West
Prince Harry has reportedly ended his friendship with actor Dominic West after West claimed in an interview that the pair drank champagne from a prosthetic leg. According to a pal of West's, Harry accused him of invading his privacy, to which West responded by telling him not to be ridiculous. The two have not spoken since the incident in 2014.
The South Pole trek
The controversy stems from a 2013 trek to the South Pole that the two undertook in support of veterans' charity Walking for the Wounded. West, speaking at a later press conference, revealed that after completing the 208-mile trek, he and Harry celebrated by drinking champagne from a fellow team member's artificial leg. He also claimed that Harry made inappropriate jokes during the trip.
The fallout
Harry, reportedly angered by West's comments, not only cut ties with him but also allegedly dislikes anyone who is friends with the actor. West, known for his role as King Charles in The Crown, admitted that their friendship suffered because he said too much in a press conference. He later acknowledged that he had probably revealed too many details about their trek celebrations.
Dominic West and Prince Harry have been approached for comment.
