Mystery Surrounds Princess Anne's Absence

Despite being in Paris, Princess Anne has decided not to attend the Olympic opening ceremony. Instead, she will watch the event from Team GB House in the city. The reason for her absence has not been disclosed.

Royal Duties and Olympic Responsibilities

As the president of the British Olympic Association and a member of the International Olympic Committee, Princess Anne, 73, is currently on a 12-day trip to France. During her visit, she will be having dinner with French President Emmanuel Macron and fulfilling various Olympic duties.

Return to Work After Injury

Princess Anne's trip comes just a month after she suffered a head injury in an incident involving a horse at her Gatcombe Park estate in Gloucestershire. After nearly three weeks of recuperation, she began a phased return to work on July 12 and has been gradually resuming her royal engagements.

Tribute to Olympic Legend

During her time in France, Princess Anne will also pay tribute to Eric Liddell, the legendary athlete from "Chariots of Fire," to commemorate the centenary of his 400-meter gold medal win at the 1924 Paris Olympics.

Her hospitalization led to the cancellation of previous engagements, including a trip to Canada and an appearance at the State Banquet.
