POLICE have issued new details about the Maryland shooting that killed beloved DMV rapper Goonew.
Police have identified the person killed in Friday’s shooting as 24-year-old Markelle Morrow, also known by his rapper name Goonew.
The suspect that shot and killed the artist is still at large, according to the Prince George Police Department.
Officers found Goonew suffering from gunshot wounds before 6pm Friday night in a parking lot in District Heights, Maryland.
He was taken to the hospital and was pronounced dead, a PGPD statement says.
Goonew’s confirmed to WUSA9 that the man was fatally shot in the back after the killers stole his watch.
