Alton Towers

“Following the passing of HM Queen Elizabeth II, Alton Towers Resort joins millions of mourners around the UK and the world in paying tribute.

“To mark the passing of Her Majesty the Queen, and to allow our guests and employees to pay their respects, we will be closing the resort on Monday 19 September and reopening on Tuesday 20 September.

“Our resort accommodation will close on the evening of Sunday 18 September and re-open on Tuesday 20 September.

They also told guests: “If you are due to stay with us on an Alton Towers Resort Short Break, this does mean that we will have to cancel your booking, and a refund will be issued in the next 14 days.”

Thorpe Park

“To mark the passing of Her Majesty The Queen and to allow our guests and employees to pay their respects, we will be closing the Resort on Monday 19 September.

“Our Thorpe Shark Cabins will be closed on 18 and 19 September.

Drayton Manor

“Following the confirmation that the state funeral of Queen Elizabeth II will take place next Monday, we have taken the decision to close the theme park on that day to allow our guests and staff the opportunity to reflect and pay tribute.

“We apologise for any disappointment caused to guests planning to visit and appreciate their understanding during this period of national mourning.”

“As a mark of respect for HM The Queen’s State Funeral, the Resort will be closed on 19 September 2022.

“This includes the hotels on 18th and 19th. This will allow staff and guests to pay their respects to Her Majesty.
