AJ was emotionless when he ended everything on a park bench… he told me no longer loved me, says Abbie Quinnen

DEVASTATED Abbie Quinnen says she didn’t recognise her “emotionless” ex-boyfriend AJ Pritchard when he ended their relationship on a park bench.

Their romance was plunged into crisis when dancer Abbie spotted the former Strictly pro texting a woman from the Channel 5 reality show The Challenge, which he had been away filming in South America.

Things took a heartbreaking turn when Abbie confronted him. AJ responded by saying he didn’t know if he wanted to be with her anymore and didn’t have a clear head.

Abbie went to stay with her family in Guildford, Surrey, and had an agonising wait until he finally messaged her saying he needed to talk. They met on a park bench in Cobham.

Abbie recalled: “He was completely emotionless  and ended everything. He told me he no longer loved me and didn’t want to be with me anymore. After everything we had been through together as a couple I thought that he would at least be upset that we were parting.

“He was acting as if I was a stranger. It was so hurtful and it broke my heart how cold he was. I was baffled and still am.”

A day later Abbie was contacted by AJ’s brother, ex-Love Island  star  Curtis, 26, and told to collect her belongings from AJ’s house.

Abbie, who is now living with her aunt, said: “That was one of the hardest moments. It was difficult to have the message come from Curtis and that AJ couldn’t even speak to me. I get on well with Curtis and he said he was sorry about the situation. He was there when I was moving my things out. I was so emotional and  couldn’t stop crying.

“My auntie was with me and we weren’t expecting AJ to be there. She asked him to leave the house for a few hours while I cleared out my stuff. I couldn’t even look at him when he walked past me.”

Brave Abbie has had a long and difficult recovery after suffering severe burns when a “life hack” video went wrong last year.

AJ was always a constant by hwer side and the pair had discussed getting engaged.

But “out of the blue” AJ admitted he didn’t love her anymore.

The Celeb Report on Sunday can now reveal he is now dating model and The Challenge co-star Zara Zoffany, 27.

The pair partied at  London club Annabel’s on Friday  and were pictured near her home yesterday.

Despite her heartache, Abbie is determined not to let the split break her and she is now focusing on her dance work in an upcoming pantomime, and her Ann Summers modelling career.  She said: “It’s so raw at the moment, I can’t imagine moving on with someone else.
“I’ve survived worse and I know with time I will be able to rebuild my confidence by surrounding herself with family.”
