Amy Duggar wishes she could ‘rescue all abused children’ after cousin Josh is arrested on child pornography charges

AMY Duggar shared her wish to “rescue all abused children”, house them and pay for their needs after her cousin Josh was arrested on child pornography charges in April.

The Counting On star has been vocal about her cousin’s legal issues on her social media over the last several months.

Amy has not been quiet about her cousin’s arrest

Amy, 34, hopped on her Instagram stories on Thursday to share a message with her followers.

The reality star expressed her desire to “rescue all abused children” and “provide for them” after learning of her cousin’s illegal activity.

“If there was ever such a thing as a genie granting wishes one of my wishes would be: that I could care, rescue, and protect all the children who are neglected and abused,” she began.

“That I could afford and have a house big enough to provide for them in every way possible, from diapers to college and vehicles.

“To give them a safe haven,” she explained.

SHOCKING CHARGES

Amy’s post followed the news that her cousin Josh Duggar, 33, “knowingly received child pornography” between or about May 14, 2019, and on or about May 16, 2019.

The oldest Duggar son was then arrested on counts of possession of child pornography in April of 2021, which also led to TLC canceling Counting On after 11 seasons.

For a second count, he “knowingly possessed material that contained images of child pornography,” including “images of minors under the age of 12.”

If convicted, he could receive 20 years in prison with fines up to $250,000 for each count.

Josh pleaded not guilty to the charges at his arraignment and was released a week after the arrest.

CALLING OFF COUNTING ON

In an exclusive interview with The Celeb Report, Amy admitted she was “not surprised” with the network’s decision to cancel the long-running reality show.

The TV personality explained: “There’s nothing I can say about Counting On being canceled except ‘thanks for the memories.’ Lots of memories.”

However, she previously told The Celeb Report she was “devastated” by Josh’s arrest.

Although she has been clear that she’s limited due to a standing non-disclosure agreement, she did say she was “in shock” over the discovery.

“At the moment I have no comment to make. I’m kind of speechless, we just hope it’s not true.

“I spoke with several of my cousins after we heard about the arrest. We’re in shock, but we don’t want to think the worst of someone, you want to think the best.

“If it is true it would absolutely devastate a lot of people.”

AMY’S MESSAGES

Earlier this week, Amy posted about “needing some calm” after previously slamming “toxic people.”

The TLC star took a relaxing trip to the lake with her husband Dillon King and their son Daxton as she snapped a photo of her view at dusk.

She captioned her photo: “I just needed some calm…”

Just weeks before she re-shared an image of balloons on a brick background that read: “It’s okay to cut off toxic family for your own wellbeing.”

Showing her clear agreement, the 34-year-old added the caption: “Amen & Amen.”

Others were quick to agree, as one wrote: “‘Family over everything’ doesn’t apply to every family. Some of us are here to break generational curses, set boundaries, and stand up and do what’s right for our own sanity, our children, and future generation.”

Another agreed: “Deffffffs some of your fam. I know that’s right girl!!!”

One then added: “It’s not only okay, it’s NECESSARY for your physical and emotional well being.”
