BBC Breakfast’s Naga Munchetty blasts cruel troll who claimed she’s ‘put on a few pounds’

BBC Breakfast’s Naga Munchetty has blasted a cruel troll who claimed she’s ‘put on a few pounds’.

Naga, 47, is known for her direct manner on the BBC morning show and doesn’t suffer fools gladly.

Naga put her sarcasm to good use as she took down the troll

So her fans weren’t surprised when she hit back at a follower who made a comment about her appearance on Twitter.

Their jibe had come after Naga innocently wrote: “I always add ready salted crisps to my sandwiches (no other flavour works for me), but never go for a solo crisp sandwich. Each to their own I say x”.

The troll replied: “You look well Naga, but, you’ve gained a few pounds recently. Don’t let it progress……”

Naga hit back with her trademark sarcasm: “Thank goodness for people like Paul.”

MISTAKEN IDENTITY

Naga Munchetty rips into 'hateful' troll who branded her 'tiresome'

Naga was sent plenty of support from her nice followers, with one writing: “Well, I think you’re beautiful, highly intelligent, hilarious and brighten my day (especially when you get bored of Charlie’s news articles!)…

“I think if people have got nothing nice to say, say nothing at all… better still, go and find something constructive to do.”

Another added: “Nice bit of body shaming there Paul, would you say that to someone’s face, or do you only feel brave enough on Twitter?”

A third told Naga she looks “great as always” and slammed the “rude” comment.

It isn’t the first time Naga has hit back at a troll, as last month she took on one who targeted her when she wasn’t even on the show.

The show in question was presented by Ben Thompson and Victoria Derbyshire and the latter interviewed Secretary of State Grant Shapps.

One hater wrote: “Just had to turn Naga on BBC Breakfast off again. Interviewing Grant Shapps, then starts the normal childish ‘Na, na, na, let’s blame you’. So tiresome.”

Unfortunately for the troll, they had made a fatal error as Naga was nowhere to be seen on the popular morning show.

Incredibly, a calm Naga put the naysayer in their place – and even signed off her message with a kiss.

Taking to Twitter, the presenter penned: “Sally, I’m not at work today. Maybe you should turn off your default setting of hate instead? Have a lovely day.”

Naga had plenty nice followers who told her she looked as good as ever
