BBC Cancels Celebrity Race Across The World Premiere in Wake of Devastating Earthquake

Earthquake Forces Postponement

The highly anticipated debut of Celebrity Race Across The World has been unexpectedly postponed just hours before it was scheduled to air. The decision comes in the wake of a devastating earthquake that struck Morocco, the starting point of the race.

Deadliest Disaster in over 120 Years

The 7.2-magnitude earthquake hit near Marrakesh, causing widespread destruction and resulting in over 2,000 deaths. With emergency rescue workers still searching for survivors amidst the rubble, it is considered one of the deadliest disasters to have struck the country in more than a century.

A Race Across 24 Countries

Celebrity Race Across The World is set to take four celebrities and their loved ones on an epic journey from Marrakesh, the most north-western country in Africa, to Tromsø, Norway, known as the Arctic capital. Spanning over 10,000 km and 24 countries, the race promised to be a thrilling adventure.

Uncertain Air Date

The BBC has not yet announced a new air date for Celebrity Race Across The World. Fans of the show will have to wait for further updates as the focus remains on the aftermath of the earthquake.

Meet the Celebrity Contestants

Among the contestants are Good Morning Britain's Alex Beresford, who will be joined by his father Noel. All Saints singer Melanie Blatt will be racing alongside her mother Helene. McFly star Harry Judd will be competing with his mother Emma, while British Racing Driver Billy Monger is partnered with his sister Bonny.
