But things quickly got a bit heated when the topic of Christmas presents came up and Nina and Charlie asked viewers to share their disappointing Christmas gifts.
The BBC journalist also decided to get Carol, involved in the discussion and asked her if she had received any Christmas presents that she didn’t like this year.
She asked: “Did you get some good Christmas presents this year?”
Carol replied: “Yes!”
Nina continued: “Have you ever had one where you thought, ‘Oh, that’s not quite hit the spot?'”
The weather presenter then hit back saying that even if she did, she wouldn’t “admit it”.
Carol said: “Do you know what Nina? Even if I had, I wouldn’t admit it because somebody’s gone out and spent their hard-earned cash and thought about buying a gift.”
She added: “So that would just be mean.”
Nina then revealed her co-star is “much nicer” than viewers because many got in touch talking about presents they had received that they weren’t happy with.
“How many people are sending you stuff?,” asked Charlie.
Nina admitted: “Well, Jane’s got in touch with me on Twitter. Her husband was brave enough to get her a large, collapsible laundry basket which he says is, ‘The Rolls-Royce of collapsible laundry baskets.”
The BBC Breakfast presenter joked: “No comment to Jane or her husband.”
BBC Breakfast airs daily from 6am on BBC One and iPlayer.
