CASUALTY will be back with a bang in 2022 as some old faces make a big return and new doctor will come onto the scene.
Viewers will be introduced to the charismatic Paige, but she might not be around for very long, as Paula fights to prove she has changed.
NEW KID ON THE BLOCK
This week will see Paige (Shalisha James-Davis) join the team after a seriously awkward introduction.
She will originally be introduced working at a bar dressed as a police officer, but then she notices a man Heath stealing money.
Paige ends up in the ED handcuffed to the criminal, as she’s forced to reveal she will be starting work there soon.
FAITH’S FLING
Faith had a terrible end to the year following Lev’s death and a terrible affair with Dylan.
After saying she had to look after the kids, Faith is eventually convinced to go for drinks with Stevie.
She’s approached by a man at the bar and decides to have her first ever one night stand.
ETHAN MIGHT BACKFLIP
Ethan starts to miss Bodhi and spends time looking back on his decision to give his son up.
Rash tried to convince Ethan to let Bodhi back into his life.
PAIGE VS DYLAN
Despite making a very unique entrance to her Casualty life, Paige continues to make waves by taking matters into her own hands when Heath asks for her help.
It does not go well and an embarrassed Paige is reprimanded by an enraged Dylan.
But she doesn’t listen and she finds Heath needing life saving help, but this fails to impress Dylan and they have another row.
PAULA’S BACK
Pregnant Paula wins some unlikely support after her balcony fall on the day of the hearing where social services will decide about whether to take her baby away from her.
Many in the ED team worry Paula hurt herself deliberately, but Dylan realises the truth and promises to support the expectant mum.
SOCIAL JUSTICE WARRIOR DYLAN
Having grown UP in the care system, Dylan wants to help Paula and he goes with her to the hearing.
He is shocked when he hears testimony from about how she neglected her first child, but argues that was 10 years ago and she should not be judged for it.
Paula promises she’s changed.
STEVIE’S TOUGH LOVE
Paige is taken under the wing of Stevie who does not like the way the new doctor is very personable with the patients.
She berates Paige for her repeated mistakes and emotional connection with patients, leaving Paige’s future in the balance.
ADI AND MARTY
Marty and Adi’s friendship was explored in a Christmas special with flashback to their original meeting in 2020.
Adi came back to the current time on the show late last month but his connection to Marty remains as strong as ever.
In fact, Adi turns first to Marty following upsetting news about Paula with every potential it could lead to a romantic relationship.
