Channel 4 viewers all have the same complaint about Bake Off: The Professionals

BAKE Off: The Professional viewers were frustrated after a huge schedule shake-up last night.

The search for Britain’s best patisserie team returned on Tuesday, with Liam Charles and Stacey Solomon bringing together the best teams from both sets of heats.

Bake Off viewers were not happy that the Channel 4 show was delayed last night

Their first challenge was to create 24 classic chaussons aux pomme (apple turnovers) and come up with a new baked creation for the judges.

For their second challenge they had five hours to produce a striking sugar showpiece on the theme of A Garden Paradise, along with two types of desserts of their choosing.

But viewers were annoyed that their favourite baking show was delayed after an extended Channel 4 news – which reported on the shock resignations of Chancellor Rishi Sunak and Health Secretary Sajid Javid from Boris Johnson’s cabinet.

One viewer wrote: “I just wondered the same! Thought Bake Off seemed to be going on for aaaages, checked the time & it’s after 9pm!! #channel4#bakeoff”

Another posted: “Another mess Boris is responsible for #bakeoff professionals was delayed on channel 4. #BorisMustGo”

A third said: “@Channel4 Why is #bakeoff still on? We want #24hrsInPoliceCustody#Channel4#WhatsTheHoldUp#Hurryup”

Another echoed: “Channel 4 news has just finished!! #bakeoff #bakeofftheprofessionals”

Bake Off: The Professionals is more than halfway through the season which means the final is getting closer.

Like the original Bake Off, there is no cash prize for winning the series.

But, the publicity for scooping the Bake Off: The Professionals crown can open doors for the star-winning bakers.

Michael Coggan and Andrew Minto (from Gin & Bake in Cardiff) won Bake Off: The Professionals in 2021.

The final should air on July 26 on Channel 4 at its usual time.
