Fans of the iconic 80s film Dirty Dancing were left baffled this weekend after Channel 5 unexpectedly removed it from their Sunday afternoon schedule. The decision to replace the classic movie has sparked confusion and disappointment among viewers.
Where is Baby?
The beloved cult classic, which tells the story of a forbidden romance between Patrick Swayze's dance instructor character Johnny and Jennifer Grey's Baby at a US holiday camp, has remained a firm television favorite 36 years after its release. Fans are accustomed to seeing it grace their screens, making this sudden change all the more surprising.
One disgruntled viewer took to social media to express their disappointment, commenting on an online post about the schedule change: "I'm openly weeping." Earlier this year, actress Jennifer Grey confirmed that a sequel is definitely happening. She emphasized her commitment to honoring Patrick Swayze, who sadly passed away in 2009, and the special connection that fans have with the original movie. Grey stated, "If you're going to do that movie again, it has to be right. It's definitely happening. I'm very excited to say that. It's something I refuse to do unless it's perfect, so I'm doing my very best to make sure we honor it."
