Over the course of its run it featured a number of big-time comedy guests.

However, the show has been given the boot with a spokesperson from the channel confirming the news.

In a statement, they said: “We can confirm that last year’s series of Comedians Giving Lectures was the final one.

“We’d like to thank Sara Pascoe and 12 Yard Productions for delivering a brilliant show and we look forward to finding new opportunities to work together in the future.”

In the show, comedians from across the UK delivered a stand-up performance under the guise of a serious lecture.

Sara gave the contenders a subject title, which was a real lecture, but the rest was completely up to them.

Combining subject knowledge with comedy, the stars had to ensure they could get as much laughs as possible to secure a win.

As well as this, an expert from the said subject field then scored them on how much they actually knew and the way they presented the topic to the audience.

Across the show, stars including Jo Brand, Sally Phillips and Joe Thomas all attempted to do their best.

They were joined by Chris McCausland, Ahir Shah and Tez IIyas among many others.
