Confessions of a Teenage Fraudster: How a Teen Con Artist Spent £1m of Other People's Money

Teen Scammer's Lavish Lifestyle

Elliot "Fiddle" Castro, Scotland's audacious teenage scammer, finessed credit card firms into giving him fraudulent plastic in his own name to fund a lavish lifestyle. By the age of 20, he had spent over £1 million conned from innocent people and was wanted by authorities at home and abroad.

From Call Centre to Crime

At just 16, Castro landed a job at a call centre selling mobile phones where he harvested personal details from customers. After being sacked, he used the data to convince lenders to send credit cards to his home, kickstarting his criminal endeavors.

A Life of Luxury and Deception

Castro lived a life of luxury, spending thousands in a three-day spree and even posing as a doctor to avoid suspicion on a train. His scams led to bizarre scenarios, like pretending to be an officer from the serious fraud squad to gauge his "wanted level" with credit card firms.

Reformed Scammer and Mentor

Now 41, Castro produces music and advises on fraud prevention. Despite his past, he uses his experience to guide young people away from similar paths. His story is featured in the BBC documentary "Confessions of a Teenage Fraudster."
