The Christmas Special of The 1% Club had comedian Lee Mack blushing when one of the contestants gave a very explicit response during a Christmas picture round. The game show, which features progressively difficult questions, tested the knowledge of its participants with festive-themed trivia.
Getting Festive with The 1% Club
In the latest episode of The 1% Club's Christmas Special, comedian Lee Mack hosted a round that required contestants to identify which image rhymed with the ninth word of the chorus of 'Jingle Bells'. The options were a kite, a red bow, and a cockerel.
When the time was up, Lee revealed that 18 people had chosen the wrong picture. The correct answer was 'bow' because it rhymed with 'Oh'.
A Rude Surprise
Lee Mack spoke to some of the contestants who had selected the wrong image. One of them, a man named Richard Jenkins, explained his answer by saying, "Well, I was swayed by the willies so I put c**k."
Lee looked surprised and replied, "Wow... Merry Christmas."
Another contestant, a woman named Shirl Essex, also admitted to choosing the explicit answer. Lee jokingly commented on her Christmas jumper and asked how she got it wrong. Shirl responded, "I put the c**k as well."
While everyone laughed, a mortified Lee asked the contestants to refer to it as a cockerel to keep the atmosphere festive. However, Shirl added, "I didn't have a clue and I just thought 'If you're going to go out, go out on a c**k!'"
Lee humorously remarked, "I genuinely wanted to be a famous actor, and it's come to this."
The Christmas Special's Finale
The Christmas Special of The 1% Club concluded with two contestants, Hannah and Jenna, sharing the jackpot of £94,000, resulting in £47,000 each.
The 1% Club airs on ITV1 and is also available on ITVX.
