Coronation Street bad boy Marc Baylis unrecognisable in panto role – five years after Rob’s shock soap exit

CORONATION Street bad boy Marc Baylis has been spotted looking unrecognisable five years after his shock soap exit.

The TV star – who is best known for playing Rob Donovan in the ITV soap opera – took to Instagram with his pantomime make-over.

Marc, 45, who was a major part of the Corrie line up from 2012 to 2014, got all dressed up for his Peter Pan appearance.

The star – who returned for guest appearances in 2015, 2016 and 2017 – is taking to the stage for the first time in three years.

The actor will star as Captain Hook in the panto, living up to his rugged bad boy image from his time on Corrie.

Photographed at the show’s launch, Marc could be seen wearing a thick, black curly wig that trailed down his shoulders.

Sporting a light sprinkling of facial hair, he dressed up in the red and white pirates costume, with a huge hat and hook on his left hand.

He got into character ahead of the performance by holding his hook up to one of his co-stars, and pretending to threaten them.

Marc Baylis’ Corrie character Rob Donovan is most famous for murdering Michelle Keegan’s character Tina MacIntyre in 2014.

He was on the street from 2012 to 2014 – when he was sentenced to 25 years in prison – and then on and off until April 2017, after he escaped.

But in reality, Marc has been continuing to act, most recently starring in the short film My Dad Marie in 2020 as a dad transitioning to a woman.

He also made an appearances in one episode of London Kills and a short film called Off Grid.

Elsewhere, Marc has made a successful career for himself as a voice actor for a string of popular video games.
