Coronation Street fans predict horrifying twist for Max Turner and his new girlfriend

MAX Turner is getting his life back on track as he attends a Pupil Referral Unit – where he has met a new love interest.

But while things appear to be going well, Coronation Street fans are less optimistic, believing the teen is in for a nasty shock.

As he wreaked havoc in the cobbles for months on end, Max Turner (portrayed by Paddy Bever) was glad to be dodging any form of comeuppance for his actions.

However, the final straw came when he exposed Nicky Wheatley‘s sex worker past and Weatherfield High teacher Daniel Osbourne had enough of his antics.

When he pressured the teen to come clean to Amy Barlow about spiking her, Daniel had no idea Max would get the wake-up call of a lifetime as he did a runner before lacerating his leg accidentally with some broken glass on the barber’s door.

After being found and saved by reformed drug dealer Jacob Hay, Max kept a low profile – and soon learned he was not only expelled but would have to attend a Pupil Referral Unit for a year.

Since then, life is more smooth sailing than ever for Max, much to his father David’s relief.

During Monday’s trip to Weatherfield, the teenager even found himself a potential girlfriend in the form of newcomer Sonya whom he chatted to online.

But while all seems a little too well, ITV viewers are speculating that a dark twist is on the horizon.

Swarming over to Twitter, fans asserted they were convinced that Max is actually being set up by his new classmates.

“I think Max is getting set up by his so called friends this won’t end well”, one of them wrote.

Another echoed: “I think it’s not the girl messaging Max it’s one of his ‘mates’ just a thought.”

A third viewer jumped in: “I have a feeling Max is being set up for a beating, I might be wrong”, just as a fourth commented: “Max is deffo getting catfished.”

Another worried viewer penned: “Are we sure Max is talking to a girl and it’s not just his mates winding him up?”

One final fan concluded: “Is Max being set up by those lads?”

Could they be right?

Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays on ITV.
