Coronation Street spoilers: Nina Lucas shaken as Simon Barlow confronts her in an effort to free Kelly

CORONATION Street’s Nina Lucas has a new trauma to face after Simon Barlow begs her for help.

Her boyfriend Seb was murdered in an unprovoked hate crime by Corey Brent and his friends in May targeting ,both him and Nina because she was dressed as a goth.

But Kelly Neelan is currently in prison on remand for the attack after she was framed by thug Corey for the hate crime attack.

In an upcoming episode, Imran and Sabeen lock horns at the pre trial review as Imran reveals he has new evidence about the blood splatters on Kelly’s trainers.

But he is conflicted when Kelly and Corey are offered a reduced plea to manslaughter.

Simon visits a terrified Kelly who is convinced she will end up in prison for life.

So he decides to approach Nina in the cafe and begs her to remember what happened during the attack, as she’s Kelly’s last hope. 

A furious Roy throws him out while Nina’s shaken.

Millie Gibson – the actress who plays Kelly – wants her character to have a steamy relationships with Simon.

Should her character find a way to turn the tables on Corey, Millie would like the soap to revisit the possibility of a relationship between Kelly and Simon.

She said: “I think with Simon, it was a relationship with a person that’s actually on her level, they’re both troubled, they both have hard family lives, hard backstories and they’ve been through a lot.

“It would be good to explore their relationship a bit more, because I think it was the only pure thing that Kelly actually had, especially in a romantic sense.

“All of her other encounters with Corey [Brent] have been a bit of a game, a bit more malicious, a bit less meaningful.”
