Coronation Street actress Sue Cleaver has shared her harrowing experience of being rushed to the hospital and ending up in intensive care after a difficult year. Speaking on Loose Women, the 59-year-old star also addressed rumors surrounding her weight loss.
Weight Loss Journey and Rumors
Sue Cleaver, known for her role as Eileen Grimshaw, initially began losing weight after being diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes in 2011. During her appearance on Loose Women, she clarified that her recent weight loss was not due to dieting or weight loss gummies, as some rumors had suggested.
A Terrifying Year
The actress bravely shared the challenges she faced this year, including a hysterectomy in March and, more recently, a hospitalization that landed her in intensive care. Although she did not go into detail about the nature of her illness, she described it as a "scary, scary time" that required surgery and specialized care.
Sue Cleaver Slams Scammers
Expressing her frustration, Cleaver lambasted those who prey on vulnerable individuals by falsely using her name to promote weight loss products. She recently posted a video to clarify that she has never endorsed any diet products and urged her fans not to fall for scams.
"I’m really, really sad that I have to actually make this video. There’s obviously some scam going around saying that I lost weight using Keto gummies… well it’s cr*p. It’s a scam. And if you’ve been taken in by it I’m so, so sorry. It’s outrageous," Cleaver shared.
The actress concluded by saying, "I just want you to know that I would never, ever advocate anything like that."
