CORONATION Street star Matthew Dunster – famed for playing bad boy Ryan Sykes – looks completely unrecognisable two decades on from his soap career.
The Lancashire-born actor arrived on the ITV cobbles in 2000 following the death of his little brother Dean.

Matthew joined the Cobbles as hardman Ryan back in 2000
The hardman, often seen with his close-cut hairstyle and a black puffer jacket, teamed up with big sister Linda Baldwin before bagging a job in the iconic Underworld factory.
Yet his troubled Coronation Street life path was soon to begin when he discovered Emma Watts – wife of hapless Curly – was responsible for his brother’s passing.
This prompted fisty cuffs with Curly before Dean got into everything from black market CDs to forging his expenses.
Matthew wrapped his time on the soap in October 2001.
His final scenes saw him forced away from Weatherfield after Mike Baldwin sacked him from his job.
Ryan’s storyline is currently playing out in the classic episodes shown on ITV3 every weekday.
Yet since then, he has transformed his streetwise look in favour of a stubble moustache and beard and a shirt.
After following up his Corrie career with stints in Doctors, Heartbeat and Silent Witness he has seen huge success in the theatre world.
Staying in Corrie’s Manchester home, he penned and directed a production of You Can See The Hills at Manchester’s Royal Exchange Theatre.
The playwright then became associate director of the Young Vic Theatre in London, between 2005 and 2009.
