COUNTDOWN was cancelled in a last minute schedule change today – leaving fans desperate for answers.
The Channel 4 show usually airs at 2.10pm every weekday, and was on today’s TV planner as normal.
However, the episode never aired, leaving fans completely baffled by the last minute cancellation.
Taking to Twitter one fan wrote: “Was #countdown not on channel 4 today?”
Another tweeted Dictionary Corner expert Susie Dent asking: “@susie_dent why no #countdown today?”
While others asked the show’s maths whizz Rachel Riley: “@RachelRileyRR
hi Rachel do you know why @Channel4 didn’t show today’s @C4Countdown
? The only explanation given was “in a change to current listings” #countdown.”
A fellow Countdown fan wrote: “@C4Countdown No countdown today?! Aaaaaaarrrrrrggggghhhhh!”
Meanwhile another fumed: “@C4Countdown Why aren’t you on at the moment? The TV guide says you’re on but it’s some Flog It show or something……. #Countdown.”
Instead, the show was replaced by an episode of Find It, Fix It, Flog It.
Channel 4 has since clarified what happened in a post on its official Twitter page.
It read: “We’ve experienced temporary technical issues related to the new operating process that was put in place after the outage.
“We are working to rectify it as quickly as possible but can confirm that the peak schedule is unaffected.”
