Comedian David Walliams Sues Makers of Britain's Got Talent

In a shocking turn of events, David Walliams, renowned comedian and former judge on Britain's Got Talent, has filed a £10million lawsuit against the show's makers. Court papers have revealed that Walliams alleges he has lost his ability to be funny and has only managed to secure one new gig since his axing from the popular talent show.

Recording Without Consent

The High Court writ states that Walliams was recorded by Fremantle Media, the production company behind Britain's Got Talent, and that his private chats were transcribed and retained without his consent for over a decade. This breach of privacy has reportedly greatly affected Walliams, who fears that any unguarded comments he makes in a studio setting could be recorded and leaked without his knowledge or consent.

Loss of Spontaneity and Professional Identity

Walliams' lawyers have argued in a 21-page legal document that the comedian's inability to be spontaneous or edgy due to the fear of being recorded and having his words used against him has caused him significant distress. They claim that he has lost an important part of his personal and professional identity as a result.

Legal Demands

In his lawsuit, Walliams is seeking £1million that he was set to receive from Britain's Got Talent, as well as £1.7million in lost earnings from the past year. Additionally, he is asking for £3.4million to cover future losses over the next two years, bringing the total amount he is seeking to £6.1million.
