Financial Links with AstraZeneca

TV doctor Dr Ranj Singh finds himself in hot water with the BBC after failing to inform bosses about being paid £22,500 by AstraZeneca for an advertising campaign in 2021.

Failure to Disclose

Despite his financial ties to the pharmaceutical company, Dr Ranj presented a segment on the safety of the AstraZeneca vaccine on BBC Morning Live without disclosing his previous collaboration with AstraZeneca.

Response from BBC

The Mirror reported that BBC executives are displeased with Dr Ranj's lack of disclosure. The BBC spokeswoman mentioned that they were unaware of the financial link before the show aired.

Dr Ranj's Side

Dr Ranj, who recently left his role on This Morning, spoke out about feeling bullied and the toxic culture behind-the-scenes at the show. He shared his concerns about the treatment of individuals, including himself, which led to his decision to step down.
