EastEnders spoilers: Denise Fox hits the booze to cope with husband Jack Branning’s behaviour

EASTENDERS’ Denise Fox gets drunk after Amy Mitchell is rushed to hospital due to her self-harming.

Next week on the BBC soap, there’s a tense atmosphere at No.27 as Jack tries to find out if he will lose his job.

Amy feels guilty about reporting his attack on Denzel, but Denise tries to reassure.

At The Vic, Jack and Denise convince Howie that Amy is getting lots of adult support, so he agrees to let Denzel see her.

Denzel finds Amy in the café, and they have a heart-to-heart – but their chat is interrupted by Nugget.

He mistakenly tells Amy that Jack has been fired.

At home, distraught Amy self-harms and can’t stop the bleeding, so she begs Ricky Jnr for help.

Jack gets a call to say Amy missed her therapy session.

He and Denise rush outside and see an ambulance loading Amy in.

Jack promises Amy everything will be OK as they leave.

At the hospital, guilt-ridden Jack is at Amy’s bedside.

The nurse tells him and Denise that Amy must see a psychiatrist before being discharged.

When she stirs, Jack is overcome with emotion as he tells Amy he can’t lose her.

Jack is called in to work, Denise insists he goes and while she stays with Amy.

Everyone is relieved when Jack gets the news that he’s to be reinstated at work.

Kim decides to bring the family together by throwing a surprise dinner.

Denise and Jack are horrified to find Kim’s chaos in their home and worry Amy will struggle with having everyone here, especially Denzel.

Jack asks to delay his return to work so he can be with Amy, but Denise thinks it’s a mistake to smother her.

Later, Jack forgets to pick up Raymond, and Denise is hurt and angry.

Denise wants Jack to go with her to Whit’s party, but he declines as he wants to stay with Amy.

Denise heads off and sets about getting drunk to forget their problems.

Can Jack and Denise work it out and save their marriage?
