WEEKS after his rape, Ben Mitchell is on a downward spiral, unable to cope with his trauma.
To try and numb his pain, the EastEnders troublemaker played by Max Bowden turns to drugs, making enemies along the way.

His mother Kathy is at her wit’s end
Fans were heartbroken by Ben Mitchell’s turmoil in recent episodes of the BBC One drama.
But as he fails to process and overcome the horror that fell upon him when Lewis Butler raped him, Ben’s behaviour gets increasingly out of control and Rocky Cotton can’t help but notice.
Rocky (played by Brian Conley) confides in Kathy (Gillian Taylforth) who, in turn, decides to pay her son a visit at The Arches.
While there, she suggests he speaks to a specialist who can help but a customer named James and who Ben went to school with, interrupts them.
Ben takes the customer to the car lot to purchase a car while James begins to flirt, leaving him uncomfortable.
But James is the least of Ben’s worries as tensions continue to simmer between him and Rocky.
Fed up of how he’s treating Kathy, Rocky snaps at Ben and all hell breaks loose.
Ben goes to punch Rocky, without expecting his mother jumping in, resulting in Kathy taking the hit.
This leads to Ben staying at Jay Brown’s home with Honey Mitchell being less than happy to see him crash on the sofa.
Ben continues to make enemies when he’s rude to her but later has a change of heart and tries to apologise.
He then turns to his mother to offer her his most sincere apology and when Kathy insists he needs help, he snaps at her again.
The owner of The Prince Albert feels like she has no choice and turns to tough love by deciding to give Ben the silent treatment until he gets help.
More alone than ever and with nobody willing or ready to carry the emotional weight of his trauma with him, Ben bumps into James and agrees to go out for a drink with him.
The pair end up in The Arches, where they begin to kiss.
As Rocky comforts Kathy after her decision, Ben takes up James’ offer and takes drugs.
Things are set to go from bad to worse as Ben sees his estranged husband Callum Highway happy during a night out organised by Whitney Dean.
While many residents – including his father Phil – appear to have their backs turned to him, Ben finds comfort in Kheerat Panesar but this could change.
Consumed with guilt, Ben is struggling to accept the businessman’s help due to one of his biggest secrets.
Who will be able to help Ben?
EastEnders airs from Monday to Thursday on BBC One.
