EastEnders Star Nasty Nick Accused of Confrontation with BGT Impersonator

Accusations and Clash

EastEnders legend John Altman, known for his role as Nasty Nick, was accused of "going nuts" at Britain's Got Talent star Francine Lewis after she impersonated his on-screen mother, Dot Cotton, at an event. Lewis, who has been mimicking actress June Brown's character for years, including during her BGT routine in 2013, reportedly clashed with Altman at London's Hippodrome.

Incident Details

According to Lewis, Altman became furious when she impersonated Dot Cotton on stage as they were walking off, with her son filming the moment. She stated that Altman demanded the footage to be deleted and made a physical gesture towards her, despite her not holding a phone at the time. Lewis expressed her surprise at the reaction, emphasizing her talent and respect for June Brown's legendary portrayal.

Altman's Response

Altman mentioned that he and June Brown, who passed away in 2022 at the age of 95, were skilled at improvisation due to their deep understanding of their characters. He humorously noted that the crew on EastEnders often wondered where the missing script pages had disappeared to. Altman also revealed that he is no longer in touch with his former castmates from the long-running soap opera.

The Celeb Report reached out to Altman's representative for a statement on the incident.
