ED SHEERAN is laying bare the ups and downs of his life in emotional new documentary, The Sum Of It All.
Handing over never-before-seen footage of his life on tour and his family, the Shape Of You singer opens up on his personal struggles including growing up with a stammer and family health problems that took him away from the public eye.

In the trailer for the four-part series, which will air on Disney+ on May 3rd, fans get to see a whirlwind trip through Ed’s life, starting as a young boy in glasses learning the cello straight through to his stadium sell-out tour.
The famously private musician also gives a look at his close relationship with the late Jamal Edwards, how Jamal helped elevate him to the star Ed is today, and the impact his sudden death had on him last year.
He calls Jamal his “best friend” with a large part of the trailer alone dedicated to the DJ and musician’s memory.
Ed’s wife Cherry Seaborn also contributes to the documentary, including videos of the pair on dates, and when she was pregnant with the pair’s two children, Lyra and Jupiter.
While the pair might be living what seems to be the perfect life – including famously having their own pub in the garden – Ed and Cherry also speak up about Cherry’s battle with a tumour that was discovered while she was pregnant with their second child.
In particularly emotional scenes, Ed is seen breaking down in tears as he cracks under the pressure of his life, crying in the back of a car and even weeping on stage as he found things hard to deal with.
By his own admission, Ed initially agreed to film the documentary under the belief it would track the creation of his latest album, but with such significant loss and change in his life, it evolved into something else entirely.
Cherry at one point admits her fears for her husband, saying that he “hasn’t had time to process and be at peace with his thoughts”.
However, among the sadder times comes videos of him laughing with his wife on date nights, and enjoying life on the road, with Ed declaring life “unpredictable” as he tries to make the most of it.
The upcoming documentary will be released two days before the release of his new album “Subtract”, which ends his long-running collection of mathematics-based album titles.
