EMMERDALE fans think they’ve rumbled a HUGE twist after The Bill and Footballers’ Wives star Ben Richards made his debut.
The actor, 49, appeared on the ITV show for the first time last night as Al Chapman’s business partner Gavin.
As viewers will know, Al has bought shares in The Woolpack and had plans to turn the pub into luxury apartments.
During Thursday night’s instalment of the soap, one of his business partners turned up at the village.
Gavin, who is played by Emmerdale newbie Ben Richards, wanted to know what was going on.
As he drove past Al in his huge car, he said: “A little birdie on the council says things aren’t looking too good.”
Al replied: “It’s just a minor bump in the road. I’ll sort it.”
But Gavin revealed he’s getting impatient as he said: “Only, we think we’ve waited long enough.
“People got a lot of money riding on this, so you need to move it on.”
Headded: “We’re getting a little sick of all your talk. It’s actions we want now – dates, a plan. Anything other than this shambles.”
A worried Al asked for a few more days and Gavin told him that they’re not taking their plan into another year.

Although many fans of the soap are interested in how Al’s plan is going to play out, others have speculated that Gavin is Chloe Harris’ dad as not much as been mentioned about him.
One wrote: “is that Chloe’s dad threatning Al in the car?”
Another said: “Is this fella threatening Al gonna turn out to be Chloe’s dad??”
A third chimed in: “That’s Chloe’s dad isn’t it? Knew they would link those two up.”
Ben shot to fame in the early 90s when he took part in a number of musicals including Up on the Roof, Hot Mikado and Grease.
He later landed guest roles in Doctors and Holby City.
But one of his most memorable characters was Bruno Milligan in ITV’s Footballers’ Wives from 2005 to 2006.
He later joined Holby City as Justin Fuller and then played Nate Roberts in The Bill from 2007 to 2010.
