EMMERDALE fans will left on the edge of their seats as Victoria Sugden and Wendy Posner are held hostage in a terrifying siege by Russ.
The return of Wendy’s ex-husband is set to culminate in worrying scenes next week where the pair are held at gunpoint.
Russ eventually reveals to her the reason he’s on the run – because he shot a policeman during the armed robbery of a jewellery store.
Wendy realises he is much more dangerous than she had ever imagined.
So when Russ orders Wendy to convince Victoria to hand inheritance money put aside for her little Harry, she does but instantly feels disgusted with herself.
But at this point the nurse is blissfully unaware that Russ has a plan B in the boot of his car – a sawn-off shotgun.
The next day, Vic tells Russ he’ll have the money by midday, and he pretends to be overwhelmed with gratitude.
Wendy, compelled by her guilty conscience, arrives at the Hide cafe and urges Victoria not to give Russ any money.
Confused by her change of heart, Wendy is forced to tell Vic that Russ is blackmailing her with a secret that could ruin her life.
Russ arrives before Wendy can reveal the secret and the two women are trapped in the building.
When Vic goes to call the police, Russ pulls out the gun, locks the door and demands Vic transfer him the cash.
Armed police soon arrive, but as the stand-off escalates a shot rings out.
Can the two women be saved?
