ESCAPE to the Country’s Jonnie Irwin was left horrified after a guest said she was “feeling sick” by his choice of property.
The BBC One presenter accompanied Melissa and Nick to Worcestershire in the search for their dream Escape To The Country home.
The couple were keen to leave Surrey after 21 years after their kids fled he nest.
The pair had a healthy budget of £900,000 and were looking for a four-bedroom detached property and enough outdoor space for their dogs.
Melissa and Nick were swept off their feet with the first property, with a stunning farmhouse kitchen and swimming pool.
Melissa gushed: “You couldn’t have designed a better house. I’m speechless which is a first for me.”
Jonnie tried to impress the couple with his second pick, a slightly older property located in Taunton.
However, the pair were left unconvinced with the grade 2 listed timber building.
Despite the stunning period features in the farmhouse kitchen and the vast amount of space, they were not happy with the “wonky” floors.
The pair immediately fell in love with the beams and the gorgeous views but admitted that didn’t like the “low doorways”.
Could you see yourself living in a house like this?” Jonnie asked.
“I don’t know,” Melissa replied and Nick added: “It has very low doorways.”
While exploring the largest of the master bedroom, Jonnie quizzed the couple on their first impressions.
Melissa replied: “Wow that’s a view, isn’t it? That’s lovely. The beams are lovely. It has characterful floors too.”
