First look at Peaky Blinders’ new villainess dubbed ‘more dangerous than anything’ Tommy has faced before

PEAKY Blinders is set to be shaken up by a sinister new arrival.

The beloved BBC drama is currently filming its final season and as production continues actress Amber Anderson has announced her involvement in the upcoming episodes.

Amber Anderson thrilled fans with a behind-the-scenes pic from the show

Anderson, best known for her role in Black Mirror, took to Instagram with the news.

She shared a picture of herself puffing on a cigarette in a chic gown and her hair slicked into chic waves.

“Well, blimey. Beyond thrilled to announce that I will be in the final season of @peakyblindersofficial,” she wrote.

“We are already filming and it is going to be epic! Thank you @antobyrne75 & @shaheenbaigcasting . Love you long time.”

Suffice to say her 36k followers were thrilled at the news and took to the comments section to wish her luck in the new role.

“That’s so exciting, can’t wait to watch you shine!,” one gushed, while a second added: “So proud of you, brilliant news.”

As for the nature of the character, while Anderson remained tight-lipped, director Anthony Byrne spilled the beans on the show’s new formidable addition last year.

“There’s a great female character who is new, who is pretty dark,” he told Digital Spy in June.

He made it clear that the lady in question would put Tommy through his paces like never before and compared her to his current nemesis Oswald Mosley.

“I haven’t seen a character like her in Peaky before. I won’t say who she is, but she certainly gives Tommy a run for his money,” he continued.

“She challenges him in a different way basically. She’s certainly not a protagonist and I don’t know if she’s an antagonist.”

He went on: “It’s similar to Mosley… she has a similar ideology, and that’s challenging for any character, like I’ve said before… he or she, they don’t have guns or a gang, but they have an ideology that’s like a virus and it’s more dangerous than anything,” he continued.

Production was delayed on series six due to the coronavirus pandemic but it has now begun
Series 6 will be the drama’s last and will be followed up with a movie

“She’s a great character and we’re really close to casting her, as well.”

Peaky Blinders took to the seas last week for intense filming scenes that saw gangsters load up a boat and set sail.

Elsewhere, Tommy was reunited with his beloved horse, before heading to prison for a showdown with Michael Gray.

Peaky Blinders wil return for series 6 later this year. Series 1-5 are available to stream now on Netflix.
