GARDENERS World star Monty Don was left issuing a warning during the latest episode of the BBC show.
The gardening legend made a frank admission during the popular programme as he tended to his plants.
Monty Don issued a ‘warning’ to BBC viewers
He admitted that he didn’t have enough water
Monty, 67, issued a warning to fans and fellow gardeners about the amount of water used on plants.
The TV star insisted that he would “never” water some plants again before revealing the ‘truth’ behind some of the problems gardeners are currently facing.
Monty was clearly affected by potential lack of water supplies as he expressed his concern on the programme with a shock admission.
He said: “Now having planted this batch of tender annuals, I’m going to give them a soak, a good water to each of them.”
However, it was here where Monty admitted that he would only be able to water the plants once as he didn’t “have enough water to water the garden”.
“I will never water these plants again,” he insisted.
“And apart from anything else, we just don’t have enough water to water the garden.”
Monty warned: “One of the things that we gardeners are increasingly having to do is harvest our water supply.”
It comes as TV gardener Monty recently left his fans emotional as he posted a touching tribute to one of his former dogs online.
His dog Nigel died in 2020.
Monty paid a touching tribute to Nigel by sharing a photo of him with Monty’s second dog, Nel.
The presenter captioned the post: “Another lovely picture of Nigel and Nell from 2016.”
Fans were left in tears at the emotional post and took to the comments section to express their feelings.
One wrote: “Oh Nigel was a smasher wasn’t he.”
While a second commented: “Nigel was so special, but they all are! Beautiful photo with lovely Nell. Feel emotional seeing Nigel again.”
Monty did not hold back
