Nathan was a hairdresser before he became a reality star – and now he’ll have a show on Radio 1Xtra

Even though he had always dreamed of fame since he was a child, Nathan was shocked when he was accepted onto the MTV show in 2015.

Openly bisexual when joining the show, Nathan became the first cast member to identify as anything other than straight.

And now he’s moving on to pastures new with a first of its kind Black, queer dating show on BBC 1Xtra, named Swipe Your Sign.

Following the news of his new show, Nathan told The Celeb Report his teenage self “would be proud.”

He said: “To be part of this for me has been a full circle moment, as soon as I began my career in this industry I promised myself I wanted to become and do something that my 16 year old self would love and be proud of.

“But most importantly that I could relate to, as growing up I had zero black queer icons to aspire to, so I kind of had to become my own.”

The Geordie Shore star’s podcast show on the Beeb will see him and co-host Ro Frimpong put their love lives into the hands of renowned Astrologist, Celestial Tree.

Listeners will explore the intersection of astrology and dating by following the pair’s series of blind dates with a diverse mix of potential partners, carefully chosen based on their zodiac signs.

And Nathan, who has dated Declan Doyle and Craig Richards, admitted that he’d swerve someone based solely off star sign compatibility.

Nathan shared: “Based on past experiences and what I know works for me, of course why would I want to waste my time dating someone who I’m not compatible with.

“However now after filming, I know that even though it may not work long term, the dating in itself is a learning experience.”

The star also admitted he “doesn’t regret” any of his exes because they were meant to meet for a reason.

“I created experiences and memories with them and to regret them would be to diminish them,” Nathan explained.

BBC 1Xtra’s Swipe Your Sign podcast will launch on BBC Sounds on 19th August to coincide with UK Black Pride. The episodes will then drop weekly on BBC Sounds every Monday.
