From skintight leather trousers, to miniskirts and figure-hugging dresses, Laura said she loves mixing up her wardrobe each morning and is unaware of the positive reaction from fans.
Speaking exclusively to The Celeb Report about being a sex symbol, Laura laughed: “I’m definitely not sexy – I would like to think I look nice and presentable and smart.
“I don’t think sexy would be a word I would use to describe myself.
“I don’t think I’m a glam icon – but I feel I’m the girl next door…like ‘she looks cute’.
“I love mixing up my outfits each morning and surprising viewers.
“We have the best stylist and I like picking cute smart outfits.”
Laura also revealed the clever way that she and her co-stars select their outfits each morning.
She said at the BBC Earth Experience launch night: “Usually there is a theme of colour for the day, so everyone behind their doors will have like ‘blue stuff, or green stuff, or pink stuff’ and not everyone will patterns.
“So say there were three women in, we wouldn’t all have patterns. One person would be pale and the other person would try and match.
“So subliminally when you watch, you don’t think you’re watching a kaleidoscope of colour. The guys ties also have to match.
“Lots of our clothes we borrow and any we buy, we either have clothes sales and the money goes to charity or there is a women’s charity that helps women get back into work and they want smart clothes for interviews, the clothes will go there.”
Laura went onto praise her co-star Martin Lewis after he landed a regular co-hosting slot on the ITV show alongside Susanna Reid.
The Money Saving Expert will join the weekday breakfast show on Wednesdays across the year alongside the show’s long-term presenter Susanna.
Laura said: “I’m so excited, I love him. Me and Martin are just like super geeks together.
“He looks across and throws me questions.
“The other day he said ‘tell me, when does Autumn start?’ and I said ‘technically it’s this day or it could be this day’.
“He said ‘great because he was trying to describe something’ and he was like I knew I could trust you.
“I was like wow Martin Lewis trusts me – everyone trusts him.”
She added: “All that happens behind-the-scenes is that everyone asks him questions about finance. He is really funny.”
