THIS Morning said goodbye to one of its longest-running members of staff today as Holly Willoughby led tributes to Tim Carr.
The floor manager was welcomed onto the set and given first dibs on chef Phil Vickery’s cooking in an emotional finale to the show.
Earlier this year he stepped back from Good Morning Britain, getting a send-off from Ben Shephard and Kate Garraway.
But today saw his final day working on This Morning after an astonishing three decades at ITV.
He is moving to talkTV, the much-anticipated news, sports and entertainment channel from The Celeb Report owner News UK.
Piers Morgan, one of the broadcaster’s new primetime stars, welcomed him in a tweet last month calling him “the best floor manager in the business”.
He replied: “Thanks Piers. It’s gonna be a blast!
“
Arriving at the show’s Television Centre base in West London today Tim called it a “strange and emotional day”.
He tweeted: “So here I am walking into TVC for the last time. After 30 years at @ITV and 26 years in itv daytime I’m finally flying the nest.
“Working on @thismorning for the final time. Today is going to be a strange and emotional day. It may get messy!! Thanks for the good times folks.
.”
TalkTV starts broadcasting in the Spring, with Piers, 56, returning to TV to present a new global daily TV show.
Speaking about the launch last month he said: “It will air daily in the UK, daily in the US, daily in Australia as well so I will be a tri-continental irritant.
“It’s something I’ve been aspiring to be for some time. It’s going to be debate and big interviews.
“If you’ve missed me on morning TV I’m sorry but I’ll be back very soon. If you haven’t missed me, I’m not sorry.”
