THE horrifying moment Billie and Sam Faiers’ mum Suzie Wells collapsed shaking during her battle with sepsis has been revealed during Billie and Greg: The Family Diaries.
Suzie, 53, was rushed to hospital last month after her water infection “massively deteriorated” and resulted in life-threatening sepsis.
The moment Billie’s mum Suzie was rushed to hospital is shown on Billie and Greg: The Family Diaries
Suzie said it’s the worst she’s ever felt
Suzie is the mum of reality stars Sam and Billie Faiers
Showing what had happened on the episode, Suzie can be seen lying in hospital as a friend stroked her head during the horrible ordeal.
Suzie could be seen shaking in the clips and she later opened up on what happened while admitting she’d “never felt so bad in her whole life.”
Discussing what happened, Billie, 32, looked visibly distressed as she sat in the car next to husband Greg Shepherd.
“What a night, what a night. That was horrendous,” the pregnant star says, adding: “I’d say it was about midnight when she started turning for the worse, and she was being sick and grey and then she was freezing.
“Her whole body was shaking. It was really scary.”
The clip then shows Billie talking to mum Suzie in the lounge, and her mum admits she was more worried about Billie as it was her first day taking the kids back to school.
“You must’ve been shattered, you didn’t need that until three in the morning,” Suzie said as she comforted her worried daughter.
Suzie explained that they’d scanned all of her organs and that nothing had been affected, adding that it had “just started to set in.”
Billie said it was a “reality check” to see her mum in that way, while telling her mum: “Don’t ever do that to me again.”
The blonde beauty had attempted to take her mum to hospital on Friday before the ordeal but Suzie had “talked her out of it.”
“Next time we’re just going, but there won’t be a next time because it’ll never get to that,” Billie ends up telling her mum.
Sepsis is a condition always triggered by an infection.
Most often the culprit is an infection we all recognise – pneumonia, urinary infections (UTIs), skin infections, including cellulitis, and infections in the stomach, for example appendicitis.
The immune system – the body’s defence mechanism – overreacts and as a result it attacks the body.
It can lead to organ failure and septic shock, which can prove fatal.
Sisters Sam and Billie discussed what happened on their podcast The Sam and Billie Show, as they explained: “Mum was in the hospital for about 15 hours in total and they flushed her system through.
“She’s on the mend which is really good.”
