She is the daughter of billionaires, Edward Shay and Ai-San Shay.

Speaking to Oprah Magazine, Anna Shay said: “My dad is from the South Side of Chicago. My mother is from aristocracy.

They both passed away, in 1995 and 2015 respectively.

Anna also said she hasn’t watched Crazy Rich Asians because she feels it would be like watching her own life.

She said: “I was going to say, ‘I live it,’ but I thought that would be too snobbish.”
