Child star turned photographer
Moises Arias, who shot to fame on the hit 00s show Hannah Montana, has left the world of fame behind for a new career as a photographer. The actor, who played Rico Suave on the show alongside A-lister Miley Cyrus, Emily Osment, and Mitchel Musso, is now 29 years old and has transitioned into more adult work.
From sitcom to photography
Arias appeared on Hannah Montana for a total of 70 episodes between series one and four. The popular programme, which aired from 2006 to 2011, followed the double life of Miley Stewart (played by Miley Cyrus) as a singer called Hannah Montana. After the show's end, Cyrus focused on her singing career while Emily and Musso continued with acting. Arias has since taken on various TV roles, including Wizards of Waverly Place and The Suite Life on Deck, as well as film appearances in Astro Boy, Despicable Me 2, and Five Feet Apart.
A new chapter
Arias spoke with Comic Book Movie about his transition into photography and adult work. Reflecting on his departure from Hannah Montana, he said, "I got off Hannah Montana when I was 16 and that’s right in the pocket of whether you’re going to school or not. I was stressed out about that and then Kings of Summer came at the right time when I was 18 years old."
He added, "I’m still figuring it out, I’m still getting experience. I think it’s going to continue being a learning process and there are always changes that you’ll have to adapt to as an actor."
Arias now works as a photographer and frequently shares his work on Instagram. His Instagram bio reads, "Actor, Photographer, and Creative Director."
