I was on Pointless and this is what really happens on the show, says contestant

Pointless has been on our screens since 2009, and the BBC show is a guilty pleasure for many.

One former contestant has how spilled the beans on exactly what goes on behind the scenes.

Adam and his pal Lucy appeared on the BBC show and won over £4K

Speaking exclusively to the Daily Star, former Pointless contestant Adam Grinsell has detailed his time on the show.

Appearing on the show with his friend Lucy, the pair managed to win an impressive £4,250.

It all started after Lucy suggested they should apply for the game show, and they landed an audititon.

This took place in Birmingham, where they had to play an informal game as a group, and shortly after they were selected by producers for the real deal.

When the filming day came around, Adam explained that they were kindly put up in a hotel close to the filming studios by the production company.

However, they were asked to cover travel themselves, to be reimbursed at a later date.

It was an early start for Adam and Lucy: “We were told to be there in the morning, it was an early start, up around 6.30am and at the studio for 8am”.

The ex-contestant added that “They filmed four episodes in the day we were there and although we were there for the early session we didn’t actually get in until the third episode after lunch.”

Interactions with hosts Richard Osman and Alexander Armstrong are fairly nonexistent apart from their time on-screen, too.

Adam said: “You don’t actually see much of them, you meet them for the first time before you start filming the first show.

“They come down the line of contestants, introduce themselves and shake everyone’s hand”.

Alexander and Richard didn’t interact much with contestants off-screen
