Tim, 45, said: “The scariest part of the whole process is when you walk into the room first and you see everybody else you’re competing against.

“Up until that point, you don’t know who’s in the room.”

The businessman added to The Mirror: “In The Apprentice there’s a lot of that first bit of unknown thing where you walk into the boardroom waiting area, and you look around and go ‘Oh my gosh’, everyone is suited and booted to the nines and they’re all ready to challenge and compete against you.”

Tim, who has been awarded an MBE, went on to win a £100,000 per year job alongside Lord Sugar when he became Lord Sugar’s apprentice in 2005.

He replaced Claude Littner on the show this year, after the Apprentice interviewer suffered an accident near his home.

Claude unfortunately injured his leg whilst riding his electric bike and has since undergone nine surgeries.

The Apprentice star revealed doctors even consider amputating his leg, he explained to PA news agency:  “My wife and my sons were there as well and they decided they were going to amputate my leg.

“And then they had another chat about it and they said, ‘Look, let’s get him into theatre right away tonight and let’s see if we can save his leg’.”

“And I went into theatre and it was a very long operation and they didn’t take my leg off.”

After being awarded the winning prize in 2005, Tim had an hour-long documentary was made based on his new role, which was named The Apprentice: Tim In The Firing Line, which aired in 2006.
