Im A Celebrity: Nick Pickard suggests Sam Thompson and Tony Bellew's friendship may be on shaky ground

An unlikely friendship

Throughout their time on I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here!, viewers have witnessed the blossoming friendship between TV personality Sam Thompson and professional boxer Tony Bellew. However, according to former campmate Nick Pickard, their connection may not be as solid as it seems.

Concerns for the friendship

In a recent interview with Fleur East on Hits Radio, actor Nick Pickard, best known for his role on Hollyoaks, expressed his concerns about the future of Sam and Tony's friendship. He revealed that there was footage of Sam throwing berries at Tony, which might not sit well with the boxer once they leave the jungle.

Nick said, "I don't know if you saw but there was a time where Sam was throwing these berries at Tony and Marvin said to him 'Mate, you've got a death wish, right? And I just turned my head. When Tony comes out I think there might be a stewards enquiry about that one! But they are great together although I think Marvin’s feeling a bit left out because there was an original bromance with him!"

Security intervention

Aside from the potential strain on their friendship, Nick also revealed that security had to intervene in the I'm A Celebrity camp after Tony called for back-up. According to Nick, Tony encountered a tarantula and the security team struggled to catch it due to its speed. Tony simply batted it away and reassured everyone that it was just a huntsman spider.

Impact on physique

Since his departure from the jungle, Nick has also opened up about the physical toll the show took on him. In an interview with The Celeb Report, he admitted that there were weight restrictions for the daily Bushtucker Trials and he lost a significant amount of weight during his time on the show.

Nick shared, "I've lost one stone three pounds! They weigh you at certain points during the trials and things because there are weight restrictions like on the Critter Mixer and I was trying to look(at the scales) but the medic wouldn’t show me."

It remains to be seen how Sam and Tony's friendship will fare once they return to the real world, but for now, viewers can enjoy their adventures in the jungle.
